A Brief Instruction for Making Camera-Ready Version.
What follows is a brief summary, you can find details and necessary files at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html.
  1. Please prepare your draft by using Latex2e.
Latex2e is highly recommended. Or please use Latex. Also for the style and basic commands, please use llncs.cls (or, llncs.style in case of LaTeX).

If you use a different system from Latex, please inform.

Please send us one Latex file containing everything. Please compile this obtained file to make your final dvi and ps files. Please suppress page numbering.

We would like to make 12 page limit. For paper size, please use either US Letter size or Japanese/European A4 size.

  2. Please send the followings.
    (1) a hardcopy of your paper,
    (2) a signed copyright form (signed by one author is OK), and
    (3) electronic files as follows:
(3.1) one Latex2e file or one Latex file
(3.2) ps or eps file(s) for figures,
        (3.3) one dvi file, and
        (3.4) one ps file.

You can get the copyright form from
    http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/copyrigh.html

  3. For sending them vial email, please bundle them tight :-)
Please first make a directory containing the above (3.1)-(3.4).
Use your family name (or its prefix for a long name) for this directory name. For example, watanabe, wata, etc. Then if available, bundle your files into a tar file. For example,

    1. tar cvf watanabe.tar watanabe
    2. gzip watanabe.tar
    3. uuencode watanabe.tar.gz watanabe.tar.gz > watanabe.uu

Then please send this watanabe.uu file via email. (You can send watanabe.tar.gz as an attachment, in which case, uuencoding may not be necessary.)

Please give me instruction of decode if you encode and/or compress your file in the other way.

  4. Then send these to me by the August 15th.
Please send (1) and (2) to

    Mail address:
    Professor Osamu Watanabe - ALT'99
Dept. of Mathematical and Computing Sciences
    Tokyo Institute of Technology
    Tokyo 152-8552, Japan

For electronic files, please send the bundled one to
    alt99-submit@is.titech.ac.jp

The deadline is tight, and please notice that it needs a week (two days in Fedex) for an airmail to Japan from US or Europe in average.

You may think it is double(triple) effort to send these files and a hardcopy, but this is requested by Springer-Verlag.

Thank you for your cooperation for making the proceedings.
